Spanish holidays in Costa Blanca villages

For those who decided that spain should be their holiday destination but haven’t decided yet which region is the right one for them, Costa Blanca can turn out to be a great idea. Costa Blanca is full of villages, most of which fight every single day to keep the Spanish customs and traditions alive. Los Montesinos is one of those villages, and it represents one of Costa Blanca’s villages of great historical importance. In fact, the historical detail is the one which most attracts tourists in Los Montesinos: it is the village which had the greatest importance for the region, being situated on Via Augusta, the Roman road which crossed Spain. However, there is a cosmopolitan spirit which can’t be thrown away; this spirit comes from the British inhabitants of the village who moved here in order to escape from the capricious weather of their country.

If you visit Costa Blanca, you should go on a journey, trying to discover its wonderful villages. Continue your visit with Rojales, probably one of the villages where the true, pure Spanish traditions have managed to survive. You’ll find it patiently waiting for you with the Segura River murmuring at its feet. The most flourishing period of Rojales was under Moorish occupation, when its irrigation system was built. Benijofar should also be on your list, which received its name from the Moors; Benijofar means “son of pearl” and it really looks like a pearl: its inhabitants made it a very coquette village. These are the same inhabitants who are so welcoming and open-hearted with every tourist. Almoradi comes next; this small village is famous for having a water tribunal. Those who have problems concerning irrigation go to Almoradi to resolve their problems. Algorfa will wait for you with its wonderful views, as it stands in the center of the citrus groves. Even though it is very small, the locals are always happy to receive tourists. If you are a golf lover, you should know that Algorfa even has a golf club called La Finca. Ciudad Quesada is the most recently built village; 1972 brought the first investors, and 1999 is the year when the village started looking like one. However, if you are looking for relaxation, this is the place to visit. Costa Blanca has a lot to offer, just spend a few days there and you will love it.
